영화 다크 나이트에 크리스천 베일이 캐스팅된 것은 이퀼리브리엄 덕이었을 것이다

다크 나이트에서 배트맨으로 출연하기에 제대로 맞는 배역인가 했었다

OCN에서 이퀼리브리엄을 보고 나니 그럴만 하다는 생각이 든다

미래사회에서 삶의 모습은 자유스러울까 아니면 자유를 통제받을까

영화에서 보여주는 미래는 통제된 모습으로 자주 등장한다

우리가 희미하게 예상하는 미래의 세계는 거의 현실이 되고 있다

현재 우리가 누리는 문명은 불과 100 년 전만 해도 상상을 못했던 것이다

이퀼리브리엄은 미래 사회를 보여주는 것 같아 조금 암울하다는 느낌이다

실제로 인간은 그런 세월을 보낸 적이 있다

히틀러 시절이다

아래 사진은 1943년에 독일에서 실제로 열병하는 군대의 모습이다

그 시절에 어떻게 저런 집합이 가능하다는 말인가...

미래에는 더 가능하지 않겠는가 말이다

그 때는 서 있는 개인 개인 마다의 신상이 컴퓨터에 다 떠 있을텐데...

이퀼리브리엄의 촬영 장소는 독일이었다

통제된 사회든 아니든

변함없는 것은 사랑이다

남녀는 싸우다가도

저렇게 가깝게 부딪히다보면 묘하게 끌림 현상을 경험하게 된다

그러니 싸울 때에는 적당히 거리를 두고 싸워야 한다

가까워지면 괜히 피가 끓으니까...

이퀼리브리엄의 무술지도는 짐 바이커가 했다

독특한 격투장면이며... 아주 창조적인 격투 기술이다

내 두 눈을 확 뜨이게 하는 그런 액션이었다

Gun Kata

Gun Kata are part of a fictional firearm-based martial art invented by Kurt Wimmer and developed by fight choreographer Jim Vickers for the 2002 movie Equilibrium. It involves the rapid use of firearms (generally pistols) against opponents with emphasis on memorized probabilities, resulting in an athletic and visually engaging form of combat.

Gun Kata, place emphasis on two tenets: shooting the enemy as efficiently as possible, and avoiding return fire. Hitting targets is a matter of knowing where enemy fighters are likely to be located in relation to the user, which removes the problem of aiming (especially at close ranges) and allows the user to defeat foes with pre-emptive fire before they can present a true threat. Avoiding return fire is also a matter of statistical probability avoiding the enemy's most likely lines of fire. In short,

Gun Kata is the art of shooting where the enemy should be, while not being where the enemy should shoot. It is effective enough that the protagonist of Equilibrium, Grammaton Cleric First Class John Preston (Christian Bale) is able to defeat more than 30 enemies in under a minute.
